Who we are

American Grill Service Institute (AGSI) is a personnel certification body. We are not a government regulator, not a training-equals-certification scheme, and not ISO/IEC 17024 accredited. Certification is awarded only after a candidate meets published requirements, including a passing examination score.

CGCT eligibility purchase

Purchase of Certified Grill Cleaning Technician (CGCT™) eligibility is a 90-day exam eligibility window at $499. Payment buys the right to attempt the certification examination within that window. Certification is not guaranteed by payment.

Examination

The CGCT certification exam is 70 items, 90 minutes, with a pass mark of 75%. Retakes are free while the eligibility window is active, after a 7-day cooldown. You must pass within the 90-day window.

Refunds

Exam attempts are all-sales-final except as required by law. An unused eligibility window may be considered for refund only if no certification attempt was started. Refund requests go to admin@agsinstitute.org.

Marks and credential use

CGCT™ and related AGSI marks are licensed only while the credential is Active. Misuse of marks, false claims of certification, or directory misrepresentation may result in credential action including suspension or revocation.

Related bodies and impartiality

The founder also operates Husker Grill Cleaning, a commercial grill cleaning business. Certification decisions follow published procedures and are not conditioned on purchasing training, tools, or services from related bodies. Related-body work is separated from certification decisions.
