Certified Grill Cleaning Technician (CGCT)™: Exam Access, Evaluation, and Credentialing

Certification Scope (Level 1)

This certification applies only to Level 1:

• Certified Grill Cleaning Technician (CGCT)™

CGCT™ confirms demonstrated knowledge and applied judgment in areas such as:

• Professional grill cleaning methods and limitations

• Equipment identification and surface considerations

• Risk awareness and common service hazards

• Documentation, professionalism, and consumer communication

• Ethical representation of services and credentials

This certification does not evaluate advanced repair, modification, or diagnostic services, which are addressed under Level 2.

What This Purchase Includes

• Level 1 Certification Exam Access (CGCT™)
  One timed examination attempt for the Level 1 credential, administered in accordance with AGSI’s exam integrity policies.

• Formal Evaluation & Scoring
  Independent assessment of exam performance based on AGSI’s published Certification Standards & Competency Framework.

• Credential Issuance (Upon Passing)
  Authorization to use the CGCT™ designation and inclusion in AGSI’s verification system only after:

  • Achieving a passing score

  • Executing required certification agreements

• Three-Year Certification Term (If Awarded)
  Certification is valid for three (3) years from the date of issuance, subject to maintenance requirements.

Requirements to Earn and Maintain Certification

Certification is not automatic. To earn and retain the CGCT™ credential, candidates must:

• Achieve a passing score on the Level 1 examination

• Agree to AGSI’s:

  • Code of Professional Conduct

  • Use of Credential & Marks Policy

  • Certification Maintenance & Continuing Education (CE) requirements

• Remain in compliance throughout the certification term

Failure to maintain compliance may result in suspension, non-renewal, or revocation of certification.

Important Clarifications

• This purchase does not guarantee a passing result or credential issuance.

• Exam access, evaluation, and credentialing are separate steps; only candidates who pass and complete required agreements may represent themselves as AGSI-certified.

• Certification is an assessment, not training, licensing, or regulatory approval.

• Certification does not authorize work beyond applicable laws, manufacturer instructions, or requirements of authorities having jurisdiction.

About Level 2 Certification

• Level 2: Certified Advanced Grill Service Technician (CAGST)™
  addresses advanced service, repair, and diagnostic competencies.

Level 2 registration is separate and requires additional eligibility and evaluation. Availability and pricing are published independently.

Format & Access

• Delivery: Digital exam access provided after eligibility confirmation

• Certification Term: Three (3) years from issuance (if awarded)

• Use of Credential: Subject to AGSI policies and ongoing compliance
